Butterfly Capture and Release

Hunting butterflies

It started out when Mrs. Kerr invited some kids from our school to her house to capture butterflies.  After we got there, we grabbed some nets and started to go out in their cover field.  We tried to capture butterflies.  There were seven students that participated.

When we went butterfly catching we caught about 3 or 4 different types of butterflies.  Those different types were the red spotted purple, tiger swallowtail, question mark, giant swallowtail, and the comma.  The ones that we caught the most were the tiger swallowtail and the red spotted purple.  The comma and question mark were the hardest to find because they were o little and so fast.  So didn't have too much luck finding them.
After we went butterfly catching we went fishing, all of the seven students caught at least one fish in her pond.  Our fishing rods got stuck in the willows in her pond.  So Mrs. Kerr had to keep getting in the deep water for us.  Out of all the kids we probably caught 50 fish altogether. That day at Mrs. Kerr's house was very fun.  It was fun because we got a chance to go fishing, butterfly catching, and to eat watermelons.  If I had a chance to do it again I would.
